Section 885.702 - Soliciting Membership in Unauthorized Fraternal Benefit Society; Criminal Penalty(a) A person commits an offense if the person solicits membership for or in any manner assists in procuring membership in a fraternal benefit society that is not authorized to transact business in this state.(b) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $50 or more than $200.Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1419, Sec. 1, eff. 6/1/2003.
