§ 174. Monument to the Puerto Rican Soldier—Fund; donations

For effectuating the ends and purposes of §§ 173—177 of this title, there is also hereby created in the Commonwealth Treasury a fund to be known as the Monument to the Puerto Rican Soldier Fund, and the sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000) is hereby appropriated from any funds in the Commonwealth Treasury not otherwise appropriated, as an initial part of the fund herein created. The Committee is hereby empowered to collect additional funds for the purposes of §§ 173—177 of this title, by organizing such publicity campaigns, collections, and activities as may be requisite among private individuals and civic organizations. All donations of money received by the Committee shall be covered into the Monument to the Puerto Rican Soldier Fund. The Committee is further hereby authorized to solicit the donation, by private individuals and civic entities to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, of any materials or properties which may be considered useful contributions toward the realization of the project for a monument to the Puerto Rican soldier after such monument has been agreed upon, which materials or properties shall be placed under the custody of the Secretary of Transportation and Public Works for use of such purposes.
