§ 173. Monument to the Puerto Rican Soldier—Committee created

There is hereby created a committee which shall be known as the Puerto Rican Soldier Monument Committee, whose purpose shall be to facilitate the erection of a monument to the Puerto Rican soldier in accordance with the spirit of §§ 173—177 of this title. This Committee shall be appointed by the Governor of Puerto Rico and shall be composed of not less than three (3) or more than seven (7) members. The said Committee may hold as many meetings as may be necessary, and the chairman shall, in writing and reasonably in advance, announce the date of each meeting. The Committee may, if it deems it advisable, prepare rules and regulations for its internal government as well as for the establishing of norms and conditions for the holding of the contests or competitions hereinafter authorized. None of the members of the said Committee shall receive, either directly or indirectly, any compensation whatsoever from the Government of Puerto Rico for his being a member of the Committee. That is, the members of the Committee shall hold their offices ad honorem.
