§ 2060a. Board of Examiners of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians—Apprenticeship license

The Board shall issue refrigeration and air conditioning apprentice licenses to those persons who meet the following requirements:

(a) Submit an application to such effects before the Examining Board, which shall provide the appropriate forms.

(b) Be sixteen (16) years old at the time of filing his application.

(c) To have [passed] at least the ninth grade of junior high school from an educational institution approved by the Department of Education of Puerto Rico, or in lieu thereof, to have [passed] the apprentice course offered by the Education and Work Centers Program of the Department of Education.

(d) Include with his application for a license or renewal, an internal revenue payment voucher in the amount of ten dollars ($10).

(e) File a medical certificate with his application, attesting that he is in good physical and mental health to work in the repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

(f) Three (3) two-by-two [inch] (2′′ x 2′′) photographs.

The effectiveness of the apprentice license shall be for the term of one (1) year, and shall be renewable for an equal term, each year, through an official certification from the College of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians and the apprentice’s technical supervisor, and the payment of an internal revenue voucher in the amount of ten dollars ($10).
