§ 3533. Fees

(a) The annual College membership fee shall be fixed in the Constitutive Assembly provided for in Section 18 of this Act, by majority vote, which may not be lesser than ten percent (10%) of the total number of professionals with licenses to practice professional planning in Puerto Rico. Said membership fee may be changed from time to time if so agreed by a majority of two-thirds (⅔) of the College members attending a General Assembly called for such a purpose. The minimum quorum at an assembly to change the membership fee shall be that which is provided for in the bylaws, but it may not be lesser than one-fourth (¼) of the total number of active College members.

(b) Any College member who ceases to actively practice professional planning in Puerto Rico in order to engage in other activities, to leave Puerto Rico or to retire from the professional practice, may either continue to be a College member or withdraw membership by submitting a sworn statement to the Board of Directors to that effect. The College member who avails him/herself of this last option shall not be under the obligation to pay membership fees during the period of voluntary inactivity, but shall neither be entitled to the benefits the College offers its members, nor be able to practice professional planning in Puerto Rico. The College member shall also notify the Examining Board, with a copy of his/her statement requesting membership withdrawal, for the purpose of having his/her license inactivated, except when such a license is required by the corresponding authorities for the practice of professional planning in another jurisdiction, which shall be duly justified. The College member may not resume his/her active professional practice in Puerto Rico until he/she reactivates his/her College membership and license. No request for membership withdrawal shall have any effect if not notified to the Examining Board.
