§ 5252. Family Involvement in Education Month

(a) October of each year is hereby declared as the “Family Involvement in Education Month” in the Government of Puerto Rico.

(b) Every year on said date, the Governor of Puerto Rico, through a proclamation, shall exhort the People of Puerto Rico to recognize all those Puerto Rican families involved in the education of their children, pursuant to the provisions of the Federal No Child Left Behind Act.

(c) The Department of Education, in conjunction with the Parental Information and Resource Center, is hereby directed to create a Joint Committee with the objective of disclosing the significance of said month by holding special activities to publicly recognize the great contributions of parents involved in the education of their children pursuant to the objectives of the federal act.
