§ 5253. Celebratory Gunfire Awareness Day

(a) To designate December as the “Celebratory Gunfire Awareness Month” and December 31 as the “Celebratory Gunfire Awareness Day”.

(b) The Governor of Puerto Rico, through a proclamation, shall urge all sectors of society to join in observing the “Celebratory Gunfire Awareness Month” and the “Celebratory Gunfire Awareness Day”.

(c) Law enforcement agencies of the Government of Puerto Rico and the municipalities, including the Puerto Rico and Municipal Police Departments; the Public Service Commission; the Traffic Safety Commission; the Puerto Rico Emergency Management and Disaster Administration Agency; the Emergency Management Office of each municipality; the Department of Health; and the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation shall adopt the necessary measures to ensure compliance with the purposes of this section by organizing a campaign during December.
