§ 5025. Month of Trio Music

(a) The month of February of every year is hereby declared as the “Month of Trio Music” in Puerto Rico, with the purpose of commemorating, particularly during said month, the musical contributions of the trios, in benefit of the development and appreciation thereof by the different generations of citizens in Puerto Rico.

(b) The Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, through a proclamation to such effect, shall exhort the Puerto Rican people each year to show their support and render a well deserved recognition to the trios in Puerto Rico through the organization and sponsoring of activities characteristic of this declaration in commemoration of the “Month of Trio Music” during the month of February, in recognition to the artistic and cultural contribution of these musical groups in our country.

(c) The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, the Luis A. Ferré Fine Arts Center, as well as the public entities and bodies and the municipalities of Puerto Rico, shall adopt the necessary measures to comply with the purposes of this section through the organization and celebration of activities in order to commemorate the “Month of Trio Music in Puerto Rico”. They shall also encourage the participation of citizens and private entities in these activities.
