Section 54-1810A - [Effective Until 7/1/2024] PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT LICENSUREAny person seeking to be licensed to practice medicine as a physician assistant in this state must successfully complete the following requirements before a license will be issued:
(1) Each applicant must submit a completed written application to the board on forms furnished by the board, which shall require proof of a college baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited school and completion of a physician assistant training program acceptable to the board and accredited by the accreditation review commission on education for physician assistants;(2) Each applicant must submit proof of current certification by the national commission on certification of physician assistants or similar certifying agency approved by the board; and(3) The application shall require a fingerprint-based criminal history check of the Idaho central criminal database and the federal bureau of investigation criminal history database. Each applicant must submit a full set of the applicant's fingerprints on forms supplied by the board, which shall be forwarded to the Idaho state police and the federal bureau of investigation identification division for this purpose.
