Section 54-1810 - [Effective 1/1/2025] PHYSICIAN LICENSURE BY WRITTEN EXAMINATIONAny person seeking to be licensed to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine as a physician in this state must successfully complete the following requirements before a license will be issued:
(1) Each applicant must submit a completed written application to the board on forms furnished by the board, which shall require proof of graduation from a medical school acceptable to the board and successful completion of a postgraduate training program acceptable to the board. The application shall require a fingerprint-based criminal history check in accordance with section 67-9411A, Idaho Code. [,](2) Each applicant must pass an examination conducted by or acceptable to the board that shall thoroughly test the applicant's fitness to practice medicine. If an applicant fails to pass any step of the examination on two (2) separate occasions, the applicant may be required to be interviewed, evaluated, or examined by the board.(3) The board may require an applicant to be personally interviewed by the board or a designated committee of the board.
