Section 141-58-5 - Command Responsibilities

a.Commanders at all echelons are charged with the duty and responsibility of implementing the provisions of this regulation and encouraging the total participation of their units in the competitive small arms program.

b.Personnel who show interest in shooting will be encouraged and afforded the opportunity to compete at unit level. Those with special talent will be made available for further training as members of the State Team. Appropriate safeguards will be established to insure that a soldier's career is not jeopardized by participating in the program.

c.Commanders at all levels will remove administrative obstacles in order that the strongest State Teams may be entered in the Competitive Marksmanship Tournaments.
