Section 461.3 - Authorization

(a) For recipients of HR and ADC, services staff shall transmit a request to income maintenance to authorize inclusion of the additional cost of home-delivered meals in the grant.

(b) For beneficiaries of SSI who were former recipients of AABD and had an allowance included within the grant for home-delivered meals when their cases were transferred to the SSI program, the allowance was included under the "hold-harmless" provisions. No authorization is required.

(c) For all other SSI beneficiaries, services staff shall prepare an authorization which shall include the number of meals authorized, period of authorization, name of provider and cost of service.
