Section 26B-7-408 - Procurement and use of a blood product is a service and not a sale - Blood donation by a minor(1) As used in this section: (a) "Blood" means human blood.(b) "Blood product" includes: (iii) a blood derivative;(iv) blood platelets; and(v) blood clotting agents.(2) The following are considered to be the rendition of a service by each participant and are not considered to be a sale: (a) the procurement, processing, distribution, or use of a blood product for the purpose of injecting or transfusing the blood product into the human body; and(b) the process of injecting or transfusing a blood product.(3) A minor who is at least 16 years old may donate blood to a voluntary, noncompensatory blood donation program if a parent or legal guardian of the minor consents to the donation.Renumbered from § 26-31-201 and amended by Chapter 308, 2023 General Session ,§ 301, eff. 5/3/2023.Renumbered and Amended by Chapter 90, 2011 General Session
