Section 30.00137 - Appellate Court Jurisdiction(a) The appellate court has exclusive jurisdiction over all appeals from the municipal courts of record of the city. The county courts at law of El Paso County have no jurisdiction over appeals from municipal courts.(b) The appellate court and the judge of that court have the power in criminal law matters to issue to the municipal courts and judges of those courts the writs of mandamus, procedendo, prohibition, injunction, and other writs necessary to protect the appellate court's jurisdiction or enforce its judgments.(c) The appellate court has the power on affidavit or otherwise to ascertain matters of fact necessary to the exercise of its jurisdiction.(d) The judge of the appellate court is a magistrate within the meaning of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1965.Tex.
