Section 483.19 - Penalties(a) Any person violating any of the provisions of this act or the rules, regulations or orders properly issued thereunder, upon conviction thereof, in a summary proceeding, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50) nor more than three hundred dollars ($300) and costs of prosecution, and in default of payment of such fine and costs, shall be sentenced to undergo imprisonment in the county jail for not more than thirty days, and for a second and subsequent offense shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or to undergo imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both, in the discretion of the court. All fines and penalties imposed and recovered for the violation of any of the provisions of this act shall be paid into the State Treasury through the Department of Revenue and credited to the General Fund.(b) The secretary is also authorized to refuse issuance of a license or to suspend or revoke a license for violations by any establishment of the provisions of this act or the rules and regulations issued hereunder.1968, July 9, P.L. 304, No. 151, § 19.
