(a) General rule.--Council may provide for lockup facilities as deemed necessary for the detention and confinement of individuals.(b) Restriction.--No city shall erect or construct a city jail or lockup or use any existing building or lockup for the first time that will be or is located within 500 feet of a public school building.Added by P.L.
