§ 168. Loans from the Farmer’s Home Administration

(a) The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico agrees to reimburse the principal and interest and the financing charges incurred by the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority to pay the loans granted to it by the Farmer’s Home Administration in the amount of $33.7 million, for the constructin of aqueducts and sewers in rural areas or communities which qualify for such loans.

(b) The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico agrees to secure the payment of the debt service of the $14,695,000 loan granted by the Farmer’s Home Administration to the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority in 1976. This security shall be effective in the event that the Authority cannot meet this obligation.

(c) The Office of Management and Budget of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall consign annually, in the Operating Expense Budget of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, such amounts as may be needed to cover the cost of the principal, interest and other financing charges incurred by the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority in the payment of said loans.
