§ 2511. Annual license fee

(a) Every ship exclusively engaged in marine trade between ports of Puerto Rico and every minor vessel exclusively engaged in the traffic of passengers or of passengers and cargo in a same port shall pay in advance to the Authority for each fiscal year the reasonable and fair sum that the Administrator may establish as provided by § 2109 of this title instead of the tariffs, fees, rents and other charges referred to in § 2506 of this title.

(b) Every license issued by the Authority under § 2511 of this title shall state the corresponding correlative number, the name of the ship’s owner and the name of the ship, its tonnage, the port or ports and the trade for which it is issued, the fees paid therefor and the maximum number of passengers and the maximum amount of cargo that the vessel may carry. The license shall always be kept on board the vessel to be shown when requested by the Authority. The Administrator may provide through rule or regulation approved as provided by § 2301 of this title, so that in one (1) or more visible places of the vessel there be exhibited the number of its license and the maximum of passengers and cargo which it may carry.
