The judicial claim for any unpaid sum by a ship under sections 2505 and 2506 of this title shall constitute a lien on the ship with the preference provided in § 2305 of this title. Action for this lien shall expire after the lapse of one (1) year from and after the date on which the debt has been settled and demandable.
