§ 2508. Civil responsibility and detention of ship

No ship subject to any payment in accordance with the provisions of §§ 2505, 2506 and 2507 of this title, or of any administrative fine under § 2203 of this title, may leave port without making the payment, for which the owner of the ship, its captain and the agent of any of them shall be jointly responsible. The Authority may detain the sailing of a ship until any sum owed under the provisions of this chapter has been paid.
