§ 189zz. Martín Peña Bridge—Historic landmark

(a) The Martín Peña Bridge located at Road Number 25, known as Ponce de León Avenue between Hato Rey and Santurce in the Municipality of San Juan, is hereby designated as a historic landmark.

(b) The Secretary of Transportation and Public Works, the President of the Planning Board, the Executive Director of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Asociación Pro Parada 27, Inc., and the Municipality of San Juan shall jointly coordinate a proper event on the occasion of such official designation.

(c) The Planning Board shall include the Martín Peña Bridge in the Register of Historic Landmark Sites and Zones, pursuant to Regulation Number 5 of September 5, 2002, as amended, entitled “Regulations for the Designation, Register and Conservation of Historic Zones and Sites of Puerto Rico”.

(d) The Department of Transportation and Public Works shall conserve and maintain the Martín Peña Bridge for the present and future generations, pursuant to the regulations to [such] effect.
