§ 189yy. Ramón Quiñónez-Pacheco Elementary School—Historic monument

(a) The building which houses the Ramón Quiñónez-Pacheco Elementary School, the first seat of the University of Puerto Rico located in the Municipality of Fajardo, is hereby declared to be a historic monument.

(b) The Planning Board, in coordination with and with the advice of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, shall take the measures needed to faithfully comply with the provisions of this section and shall include the Ramón Quiñónez-Pacheco Elementary School, the first seat of the University of Puerto Rico, in its list of Historic Sites and Places, pursuant to the provisions of the applicable legislation and regulations.

(c) The Commonwealth Historic Preservation Office shall have the Ramón Quiñónez-Pacheco Elementary School, the first seat of the University of Puerto Rico, within its jurisdiction and shall take the measures needed so that the school be included in the National Register of Historic Places in Washington, D.C. and thus be able to benefit from federal funds for this type of property.
