§ 1025. Compensation

Friendly mediators, arbitrators and conciliators who are not employees of the municipality shall receive the remuneration provided by the mayor, which shall be fully paid by the parties.

In the event that the friendly mediators, arbitrators and conciliators are municipal employees, the parties shall pay the fee for this service provided by the municipal legislature of San Juan through an ordinance.

Private experts’ fees shall be defrayed by the concerning parties, the fees of experts who are employees of the municipality shall also be paid by the parties according to the rate established by the municipal legislature.

The municipal legislature may exempt eligible persons, according to the income criteria to be established, from the payment of fees for the service of arbitrators, friendly mediators, conciliators, and experts.
