§ 891. Definitions

For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms or phrases shall have the meaning stated hereinbelow:

(a) Special Economic Development Zone.— Means the territorial area comprised by the territorial extension under the domain of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in the municipality of Vieques and the territorial extension of the Isle of Culebra, taking into account the need to promote the economic development of both islands in an orderly and balanced manner.

(b) Consulting group.— Means the team of professionals created in § 891b of this title.

(c) Interagency group.— Means the interagency task force constituted by several public officials and created in § 891g of this title, to assess the economic conditions of Vieques and Culebra, and design an integral economic development plan for both municipalities.

(d) Eligible project.— Means any private investment made by investors, corporations or enterprises that generate two or more jobs and new productive activities.

(e) Eligible occupations.— Means those occupations of greatest demand in the job market of the special economic development zone.
