§ 1094b. Commonwealth Animal Control Office—Board of Directors

The Executive Director, in consultation with the Secretary of Health, shall appoint a Board of Directors for each region with representation from any entity interested in the protection of animals in Puerto Rico, which may exercise those executive and administrative functions and powers conferred thereto under the provisions of this chapter by delegation of the CACO. Each one of the towns which comprise the different regions must be adequately represented on the corresponding Board of Directors, and it shall be ascertained that there is satisfactory participation of the citizens on the boards. Licensed veterinarians and representatives of government organizations or private entities that carry out duties related to the protection and well being of animals, shall also take part.
