P.R. Laws tit. 24, § 937
(a) The repetition of a medical or practitioner’s order or prescription is hereby prohibited, except when it includes the written and signed order of a person empowered by §§ 930—949 of this title to issue the same authorizing its repetition and also stating the number of times it may be repeated.
(b) The filling of a medical or practitioner’s order or prescription which is not the original one issued and signed by the person legally authorized therefor is hereby prohibited.
(c) Copies of medical or practitioner’s orders or prescriptions may be issued on petition of the person who issued them or of the person for whom they were originally issued, for personal use and information; or at the request of an officer or agency of the government of the United States or of the Commonwealth; or for use in any court proceeding, in this latter case, upon previous judicial order.
