§ 365. Confidentiality

The information received by the Department through reports, inspections or by any other means authorized by the provisions of this chapter shall be confidential. Provided, however, That said information may be reported by the Department to any division or dependency of the government of the United States or of Puerto Rico to be used in medical statistics and research. Any entity of those mentioned above which requests information of a confidential nature shall record in writing the purpose of requesting such information; said information shall be used solely and exclusively for the purpose thus stated and said agency shall be responsible for maintaining confidentiality as to the identification of patients, physicians and health facilities.
