Those naturopaths who on the effective date of this act have been practicing naturopathy under a provisional authorization validly issued by the Naturopathy Committee of Puerto Rico, as established by Act No. 239 of September 16, 1996, may continue to practice the same until the notification of the results of the revalidation examination. Nevertheless, these persons shall have two (2) opportunities to pass the examination given by the Board of Examiners, and should he/she fail the same, the provisional authorization shall be canceled. To qualify under this provision, the naturopath shall have taken the exam the first time the Board offers it and, if necessary, he/she shall have an additional opportunity the second time that it is offered. Those persons who hold conditioned authorizations issued pursuant to Section 6 of Act No. 239 of September 19, 1996, shall certify to the Examining Board the number of credits approved to meet the requirements of this chapter. The Board shall evaluate each case and shall issue conditioned authorization for the time it deems reasonable to meet said requirement, which shall not be greater that the equivalent to four academic semesters.
Likewise, those persons who on the date of approval of this act have practiced naturopathy for a term of twenty (20) years or more, shall have two (2) opportunities to take the revalidation examination. If they approve it, the license requested shall be issued to them. To qualify under this provision, the person must take the examination the first time it is offered, and if necessary, shall have an additional opportunity the second time it is offered.
The persons who qualify to take the revalidation examination under conditions of seniority, shall meet all the requirements established in this chapter, with the exception of the provisions of subsections (d) and (e) of § 2509 of this title.
