§ 848. Social worker defined

For the purposes of this chapter “social worker” shall be any person who, after meeting the academic and professional requirements set forth herein, is engaged in employing the social resources at his disposal for the benefit of a person, family, or community having specific needs, in order to assist in solving its problems of health, education, poverty, delinquency, neglect, want of protection, mental defects or diseases, physical disability, and social or environmental deficiencies.
