§ 544h. Requirements for admission to profession—Additional license and certifications

(a) Upon approval of this act, every optometrist duly licensed in Puerto Rico may petition the Board for a certifying examination in order to obtain the corresponding permit to practice certified optometry.

(b) As of March 1, 1999, the Board shall be empowered to license aspirants for the practice of optometry and certified optometry.

(c) Every candidate to practice certified optometry in Puerto Rico, shall have to pass a written examination on the ethics, jurisprudence and professional liability of optometry and certified optometry in Puerto Rico with a score of, or greater than seventy-five percent (75%) of the maximum score.
