§ 544f. Examining Board—Endorsement of license

The Board may grant a license by endorsement for the practice of optometry in Puerto Rico, provided the applicant meets the following requirements

(1) Holds a Doctors Degree in Optometry from a school accredited by the Council of Optometric Education (COE), of the American Optometric Association (AOA).

(2) Holds an active license in a state or territory of the United States of America or Canada.

(3) Has approved Parts 1 (Basic Sciences, II (Clinical Sciences), III (Patient Care), and the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease (TMOD) of the examination of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).

(4) Has not been suspended from the practice of optometry in any state or territory of the United States of America or Canada, or their federal agencies.

(5) Has approved the ethics, professional liability and jurisprudence examinations administered by the Board with a passing grade established thereby.
