§ 281b. Board of Examiners—Members; requirements

The members of the Board shall be persons over twenty-one (21) years of age, citizens of the United States of America and residents of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. They shall, likewise, hold a medical technology license duly recertified in accordance with the laws of Puerto Rico, have practiced actively as medical technologists for a term of not less than five (5) years, and at least one of them must have teaching experience in any of the branches of medical technology at an academic or clinical level. They must also be actively practicing as medical technologists in Puerto Rico at the time of their appointment.

No member of the Board may carry out teaching positions, be a shareholder or belong to the board of trustees or board of directors of a university, college or school of medical technology.
