§ 1206. Organization

The Secretary is hereby empowered to determine, by regulations, the organization and administration of the Corps, the obligations, responsibilities and any other matter pertinent to the operations thereof.

The Secretary shall procure and administer the necessary funds to accomplish the effective operation of the Corps, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.

The clothes that shall constitute the official uniform of the Corps and the equipment it shall use shall be determined by regulations.

The use of the uniform, or any part thereof, by any person other than a member of the Corps, is hereby prohibited. Any person who violates this prohibition shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisonment for a term of not more than six (6) months.

Corps members shall be subject to and protected by Act No. 5 of October 14, 1975, known as the “Puerto Rico Public Service Personnel Act”.

Corps members may receive, while on duty, discounts in food establishments, provided that such discount is voluntarily offered by the establishment. No Corps member shall offer any service in exchange for such discount.
