§ 1120. Definitions

(1) Cooperative agreement.— A cooperation agreement among the State Government dependencies of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico that use the services of the U.S. Geological Survey Services for purposes of agreeing and coordinating those U.S. Geological Survey Services projects and services they are interested in sharing amongst themselves.

(2) Special fund. — A fund in the Department of the Treasury in which the funds of the government agencies participating in the Joint Cooperative Agreement for the defrayment of expenses for the U.S. Geological Survey Water Resources Division Caribbean District services shall be appropriated and deposited.

(3) Committee.— The Committee shall consist of the Executive Board of the Cooperative Agreement, which in turn shall consist of a delegate designated by the following agencies or instrumentalities of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico: the Environmental Quality Board, the University of Puerto Rico, the Planning Board, the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health, the Department of Housing, the Industrial Development Company, the Tourism Company, the Aqueducts and Sewers Authority, the Electric Power Authority, the Highways Authority, the Department of Transportation and Public Works, the Solid Waste Authority, and the Department of the Treasury. The Environmental Quality Board shall appoint the president of this Committee, and the Department of the Treasury shall appoint its treasurer.

(4) U.S. Geological Survey.— The geological services of the U.S. Geological Survey Water Resources Division Caribbean District. This is a federal government agency dedicated to the study of geological resources.
