§ 73b. Falconry license—Procedures for obtaining

To obtain a falconry license, the following procedures shall be completed:

(a) A person who wishes to practice falconry and does not have a valid falconry license must submit a written application to the Secretary.

(b) Applicants who are 18 years of age or older shall enclose with the application a negative criminal record certificate issued by the Puerto Rico Police not more than thirty (30) days before the date on which the application is filed.

(c) Children under the age of 18 must obtain a written consent from their parents or legal guardian pursuant to the requirements established by the Secretary through regulations.

(d) The Secretary shall establish through regulations any additional requirement for children under 18 years of age to obtain a falconry license.

(e) The fees to be paid shall be established by the Secretary through regulations.

(f) Letters of recommendation from falconers of a higher category with a valid falconry license are required. The Secretary shall establish through regulations the requirements and conditions for the different falconer categories.

(g) Approve the Hunter’s Education Course of the Department.

(h) Approve the falconry examination administered by the Department.
