§ 293p. Charge of fees and payment of costs

The Secretary is hereby authorized to charge and collect the corresponding fees for copies of records whose surrender is ordered by the court, as well as of the opinions and of any other document issued to the general public, in order to recover the expenses incurred for the information search, preparation and reproduction. The copies of the original documents stored by or in electronic or computerized means or support systems shall have the same validity and effectiveness as the original document, provided its authenticity, integrity and conservation is guaranteed.

The Secretary shall fix the fees and establish the procedure to request these services through regulations, as well as the as well as the safety measures when electronic and computerized media are used. The moneys thus collected shall be covered into the Special Fund created by §§ 291—295u of this title.

Likewise, to be covered into the Special Fund created by §§ 291—295u of this title shall be the amounts paid to the Commonwealth to defray costs and attorney’s fees, pursuant to what is established by Civil Procedure Rule No. 44 for the General Court of Justice.
