§ 2253. Registration—Notation in Day Book

The Registrar shall make a notation in the Day Book or electronic system of every title presented at the Registry for its registration or annotation, even though he/she may believe that the title to be presented lacks some legal requirement.

The notation pertaining to the physical or electronic presentation shall state the mailing and electronic address of the authorizing notary. All notices from the Registrar to the notary shall be sent to the electronic address from the sections in which the information system is available or by regular mail in case the latter is not available. The notary shall be duty bound to keep the Registry informed of any change in his/her mailing or electronic address.

From the date of effectiveness of this act, the presenter of a document shall include with the document to be presented, a self-addressed and pre-stamped postcard stating the name and address of the person to be notified of the registration of the document. The person notified shall have a term of thirty (30) days to retrieve the document or documents in question. After said term has elapsed, the Secretary of Justice or the person on whom the latter delegates may proceed to conduct the final disposal of the document.
