§ 5190. Day to Recognize Efforts to Prevent and Intervene in the Abuse of Minors

(a) The last Wednesday of the month of April of each year is hereby declared to be the “Day to Recognize the Efforts of Private, Professional and Community Based Groups and Organizations to Prevent and Intervene in the Abuse of Minors”.

(b) The Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, at least ten (10) days prior to the last Wednesday of the month of April, shall issue a proclamation for the purpose of recognizing the prevention and intervention efforts of community based organizations concerning the abuse of minors.

The Department of the Family, in collaboration with the various agencies, instrumentalities, departments and public corporations of the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, shall organize those activities it may deem pertinent to commemorate the “Day to Recognize the Efforts of Private, Professional and Community Based Groups and Organizations to Prevent and Intervene in the Abuse of Minors”.

(c) A copy of the annual proclamation shall be distributed to the news media of the country for its circulation.
