§ 5064. International Red Cross Day

(a) It is hereby decreed that the International Red Cross Day shall be held throughout the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico on the 8th of May of each year.

(b) Each year, the Governor of Puerto Rico, by proclamation, shall call upon all entities, from the public as well as the private sector, and all the people of Puerto Rico to join in the celebration of the International Red Cross Day.

(c) The Puerto Rico Chapter of the American Red Cross shall adopt all necessary measures to comply with the purposes of this section by organizing and holding activities to disseminate the meaning conveyed by the commemoration of this day, and to highlight the worth and importance of the Red Cross Movement and its impartial humanitarian efforts towards the prevention and relief of human suffering under any circumstance and in any part of the world, thus reaffirming the dignity of man and the rights due to all human beings throughout the globe.

(d) The government agencies of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall give their cooperation and support to hold the activities organized by virtue of this section.
