(a) The month of April of each year is hereby designated as “Cancer Prevention and Control Month” in Puerto Rico. The Governor of Puerto Rico through a proclamation to such effects, which shall be issued at least ten (10) days before the beginning of said month, shall exhort the people of Puerto Rico to organize and sponsor the activities inherent to this celebration.
(b) During said month the Secretary of Health shall carry out a cancer prevention and control campaign coordination with the different Government agencies and instrumentalities and the private entities concerned; especially the “American Cancer Society”, the “Puerto Rican League Against Cancer” and the “Ponce Association for the Fight Against Cancer”.
(c) The Secretary of Health, in coordination with the above-mentioned public agencies and private entites, shall determine the best means of publicity for such ends, giving greater importance to the information that the citizenry should have about the services rendered by all the entities concerned, and the ways in which the citizenry can cooperate in the prevention and control of cancer.
