P.R. Laws tit. 1, § 5037
(a) The l6th day of May of each year is hereby declared as “Juan Morel-Campos Birthday and the Day of the Puerto Rican Danza Composers”.
(b) The Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall exhort the People of Puerto Rico, and all public and private entities as well as all the municipalities, through a proclamation, to celebrate this day and also to organize and sponsor events and activities to such ends.
(c) The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Fine Arts Center Corporation, the Stage and Musical Arts Corporation, the Conservatory of Music Corporation, the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, the University of Puerto Rico and the Department of Education, as well as other interested public entities, shall individually or jointly recommend, schedule, organize and sponsor those acts or public or private demonstrations to be held in commemoration of Juan Morel-Campos’ Birthday and to honor the Puerto Rican Danza Composers.
