§ 427. Assistance from the State

The State shall provide children with special protection and assistance should they lack someone to care for them, or when it is found within the corresponding legal process that said children have suffered or are in serious risk of suffering grave physical, sexual or psychological harm. Said assistance may include their temporary placement in an institution for the protection of children or within a family that may protect or adopt them. In either case, the State shall assure compliance with all legal and other safeguards that guarantee the best welfare of all children.
