§ 1612. Government programs

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, by itself or through the Corrections Administration, the Juvenile Institutions Administration, the Employment and Training Enterprises Corporation and the Parole Board, shall be bound to promote the establishment and modification of essential government programs to achieve compliance with the constitutional mandate instituted by this chapter and to make the petition for the necessary fiscal resources. For such purpose, collaboration agreements may be established with the community organizations, the social research centers and the educational institutions in Puerto Rico and abroad.

The Office of Management and Budget shall be responsible for identifying the sources of resources and promoting of fiscal appropriations, through the Office of the Governor, pursuant to its Organic Act and to this legal mandate.
