§ 3052. Creation

The Puerto Rico Agriculture and Livestock Industry Regulating Office is hereby created, and attached to the Department of Agriculture. Its operations shall be funded from the resources provided in the consolidated budget of the Department of Agriculture.

The Secretary is hereby empowered to restructure said Department to provide the resources needed for the operation of this Office.

The Secretary shall appoint a Regulating Officer in the Department, who will direct the Office. Said Regulating Officer shall perform his/her functions at the volition of the Secretary. The Officer shall be an agronomist of acknowledged competence and moral probity, and who is qualified as a director of agricultural programs.
