The rights and duties of members of housing cooperatives apply solely to natural persons of legal age who belong to the same family and reside in the same housing unit, according to the books of the cooperative and in compliance with the bylaws of the aforesaid. Juridical persons are excluded from participating as members.
Each cooperative shall have bylaws to govern the operations of the cooperative. All housing cooperatives, including those of titleholders, shall be bound to inform each candidate to membership regarding the bylaws, conditions, rights and responsibilities of the person once he/she achieves the status of member. This shall include informing him/her of the causes and conditions which may cause the loss of membership or rights as a titleholder, as the case may be.
