§ 127c. Compensation for ensuring result

Any person who assures or receives any compensation for ensuring the favorable or adverse result of any ticket of any lottery, whether or not the draw takes place in Puerto Rico, or who receives any compensation for committing to restore any amount of money or any other thing whether or not any lottery ticket wins, or whether or not such lottery is drawn on a certain day or in a certain order; or who promises or agrees to pay any amount of money or to deliver any materials, litigious objects or goods, or to refrain from something in favor of any person, with or without any compensation, in view of any event or contingency that depends upon the luck of the draw of any lottery ticket; or who publishes any announcement or proposition with the aforementioned purposes shall incur a misdemeanor.
