§ 301l. Judges’ resignation

In the case that a pit or registration judge decides to resign to the position he/she is holding in the cockpit, he/she shall so notify it in writing, through certified mail, to the cockpit operator and the Sports and Recreation Department within thirty-days (30) before the day the resignation becomes effective. If the judge abandons his/her position without meeting this requirement, his/her license shall be suspended for six (6) consecutive months and he/she shall be punished with a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500).

Pit and registration judges are officials licensed by the Sports and Recreation Department whose recruitment to practice every season falls on a cockpit operator. It is his/her duty to strictly comply with this regulation. The pit and registration judges shall continue to act as such depending on their performance in every cockpit. The operator may replace an official judge through a notice in writing to the judge and the Cockpit Affairs Office of Puerto Rico. In addition, said operator shall notify the name and license number of the judge to be recruited.
