§ 1592d. Board of Directors

The Agronomists Association shall create a Board of Directors that shall adopt the norms, rules, regulations and procedures that are necessary and convenient to exercise their powers and accomplish the purposes of the Agricultural Museum.

The Board of Directors shall be composed of ten (10) members, which shall include the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, the Chairperson of the Agronomist Association, the Chairperson of the Farmers’ Association, the Dean of the School of Agricultural Sciences of the Mayagüez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico, the Executive Director of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Secretary of the Department of Education, the Chairperson of the Agricultural Committee of the Puerto Rico Agronomists Association, the Mayor of Vega Baja as an ex officio member and two (2) representatives of the public interest knowledgeable in the fields of history and museology, selected by the Governor, with the previous recommendation of the Agronomists Association of Puerto Rico for a term of three (3) years each.

The Board of Directors shall elect a chairperson from among its members and those officers it deems convenient for a term of three (3) years.

The Agricultural Museum shall have an Executive Director appointed by the Board of Directors of the Museum, who shall perform his duties at the Board’s volition, until his successor is designated.

The Board of Directors shall delegate to the Executive Director or other employees of the Agricultural Museum those powers and duties it deems proper to delegate, except the power to regulate, the drafting and approval of the budget, and the fiscal supervision of the institution, which shall not be delegated. The Board of Directors shall set the salary of all the personnel of the Agricultural Museum pursuant to the norms that apply for positions of similar category.
