§ 1122. Girl Scouts; appropriation

For the promotion and diffusion of the principles of exemplary citizenship, sound and firm character, and preparation for home life, as well as for the civic education of girls of school age, a work which is being promoted by the national institution of the Girl Scouts, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to place annually at the disposal of the Girl Scouts organization in Puerto Rico the sum of six thousand dollars ($6,000) out of any available funds in the Commonwealth Treasury, to be used for the maintenance of such organization, for expenses in connection with training and hikes, for carrying out activities such as camps and lectures, and everything tending to create and maintain habits of morality and character and the spirit of association and companionship among the girls of Puerto Rico.
