§ 1121. Boy Scouts; appropriation

In order to promote and diffuse the principles of exemplary citizenship, sound and solid character, and probity, as well as to give civic instruction to boys of school age, a work which is being forwarded by the national institution of Boy Scouts, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to place annually at the disposal of the Secretary of Education, the sum of six thousand dollars ($6,000) which shall be used for the maintenance of the organization of Boy Scouts for the expenses of training and hikes, to carry out activities such as camps and lectures, and everything tending to create and maintain habits of morality and character and a spirit of association and comradeship among the boys of Puerto Rico; Provided, That all disbursements chargeable to this appropriation shall have the approval of the Secretary of Education, and that he shall be a member of the Executive Committee of the organization.
